These homeowners of nearly 20 years wanted to maximize their living space.
There were 4 doorways within the kitchen, a small eat-in area, and a formal dining room nearby.
They approached Bencar Building Systems at the suggestion of a co-worker and we were delighted to help them!
We love kitchen remodels and any type of interior remodel work!
We met with them and reviewed our remodel process.
We took pictures, notes, and measurements to send off to our designer at Bender Showroom in New Haven.
To gain additional space, we widened one doorway and eliminated the pantry closet in the kitchen.
We eliminated the doorway to the current dining room because the homeowners turned that into a tv
room and the current tv room became the formal dining room.
Because there was never enough counter space, the homeowners had the cabinet countertop flow into the eat-in area with a continuous countertop!
Bencar and Bender designed the base to match the cabinets and it looks amazing.
The cabinets are a Hanssem frameless cabinet with a Westbury door in cherry/cordovan
and they come with matching fascia, crown, baseboard, and aprons.
The countertop is Beige Ornamental granite and was also supplied by Bender Showrooms in conjunction with East Stone in Stratford.
The fabricators and installers are great to work with and we like having the cabinet designer in our corner to help coordinate
different parts of the project.
Rounding out the materials is the flooring of Lager Badia which is a natural wood look tile but with the durability of
porcelain tile in 6”x40” planks and the tile backsplash in Hillside Knoll brick.
We used Sherwin Williams paint in Aged Wine, Fragile Beauty, and Hornbeam for the various rooms remodeled.
We were excited to help one of our existing clients breathe new life into her 2nd-floor bathroom in Hamden, CT. Originally a classic 1950s style, this bathroom was charming yet needed some practical updates to suit modern living. Bathroom remodeling is one of our specialty […]
A couple from Wallingford, Connecticut contacted us about a kitchen remodeling project.
Their space was limited, however, they only had one wall of cabinets, and the wall opposite only had a wall oven. They wanted to add cabinets to the opposite wall and keep that oven, […]
A great experience from start to finish, and the final product looks amazing. Mark & Nancy were great during planning phase and throughout the entire process to extend the exiting house roof over the existing elevated deck. The crew (Greg & Craig) had great attention to detail and kept the site clean over the 4 week process. Will definitly use them again for other projects.
Quick and consistent contact when ever I needed. 100% reliable and of course outstanding workmanship! Thanks for my new bathroom! Love it.
