Ferraro's Painting and Restoration of North Haven, another good family-owned company, referred these homeowners to us!
The homeowners had sold their home in the Bethany area and although they downsized, they still wanted to entertain and have their kitchenware accessible. When we met, we discussed how to get more storage without overcrowding the kitchen and came up with some great ideas!
At the garage door, a pantry and a corner upper and lower cabinet were added. It's a perfect area for a drop zone and the grocery bags don't have to go far with the pantry right at the door!
The sink was moved from the long counter section to under the window. First, it frees up so much counter space, and second, wouldn't you rather look out the window to the backyard than look at a wall?
A small peninsula was created which allowed for a pull-out trash cabinet, two counter seats, and storage in the cabinets below the seating!
The cabinets, countertop, fixtures, and tile selections were all made at Bender Showroom in New Haven because of their great one-stop shopping. The layout and tile were reviewed by our plumber, electrician, and tile installer to ensure they knew what was involved in their pricing.
The cabinets are Fabuwood Fusion Blanc with Beige Ornamental granite. The tile is Align 4x12 in a biscuit gloss and a light almond grout. We really like the full wall of tile by the stove and the tile from the sink to the ceiling!
Hardwood flooring replaced the tile floor and it was sanded and finished to match the existing flooring.
We waited until after the holidays to get started and the kitchen was completed by the end of the month.
While taking pictures of the project, the homeowners shared how much they love living in Wallingford because of their close proximity to family, the great restaurants and stores, and easy access to Route 15 and I-91. We agree with them - we love Wallingford!
